Adirondack Council Testfies at State Environmental Budget Hearings
Today, Adirondack Council Director of Government Relations Kevin Chlad delivered budget testimony at the joint legislative public hearing on the environmental conservation portion of the Executive Budget proposal for fiscal year 2020-2021.
Chlad explained the need for state funding in the priority areas of protecting wild public lands from overuse, the proposed Restore Mother Nature Bond Act, climate change, scientific research on clean air, environmental capital projects (land purchases, stewardship and invasive species protections), diversity/inclusion and anti-bias efforts, the Adirondack Park Agency and Olympic sports venues.
