Mining issue in Adirondacks a "divisive issue."

WMHT
November 18, 2013

The Adirondack Council Executive Director, Willie Janeway, discusses the environmental advocacy group's support behind the controversial Prop 5 amendment that passed on Election Day giving NYCO minerals 200 more acres of the forest preserve to mine.   While Janeway says he understands some of the criticism, it's support of the amendment is part of a fresh way the organization is promoting a healthy Adirondack economy as well as a well-protected environment.

Janeway also discusses how he'd like to see the newly-acquired land around the Essex Chain of Lakes be classified and how Governor Cuomo has been regarding issues in the state park.  Watch the full episode.
